Last month, I had the pleasure of participating in the Indiana Repertory Theatre’s 2016 Celebrity Radio Show and it was a BLAST!!!
The Celebrity Radio Show is one of the IRT’s annual fundraisers and each year local Indy celebs take the stage in a funny play reminiscent of the live radio shows of the 1940’s. This year’s show, To Kill a Mockingjay was a spoof of the momentous Harper Lee novel To Kill a Mockingbird and the uber-popular Hunger Games series.
To Kill a Mockingjay poked fun at local politics (RFRA, etc) and featured performances from local executives, athletes and politicians. My role was as… myself lol a.k.a a representative from The Capital. I stepped on stage during donation time to encourage all the rich folks in the audience to share some of their cash with the IRT. It worked and the IRT made their 15,000.00 goal for the evening.
When I first got the email, I was thrilled and excited and a bit confused lol I’m a local celebrity? Yea…. ok. 😉 but either way, I had a great time and the IRT was so gracious and I’m so pleased that they gave me the opportunity to do this.
It was great and here are a few pics (courtesy of Abdul Shaheed-Aaron) from my moment on stage 🙂
