Recently, I was given the opportunity to volunteer on an advisory board for the 100 Black Men of Indianapolis’ annual Summer Academy program. The Summer Academy is a six-week long educational experience for children in grades kindergarten through eighth.
As a part of my duties as marketing chair, I was tasked with coming up with two fundraisers to help fill in the financial gaps of what grants, sponsorship, and enrollment doesn’t cover.
After thinking for a bit and conversing with my co-chair, Kendale , the idea emerged to host an old-school card party/game night. I came up with the name “Sip&Play” to go off the fact that we’re hosting it in a local downtown bar.
The event will also feature raffle prizes and drink specials! All of the money collected from the sale of raffle tickets will go to the Summer Academy.
